Nikwax Cotton Proof™ is an easy to use wash-in waterproofer that adds water repellency to your cotton, polycotton and canvas clothing and equipment.
Cotton based fabrics are breathable but are also highly absorbent and retain water which makes them heavy and restricts their breathability.
To prevent this you can use Cotton Proof™ to add durable water repellency (DWR) to prevent the fabric from absorbing water and allowing water to simply bead off.
Simply add to your washing cycle and Cotton Proof™ will penetrate the fabric adding the durable water repellency when air drying (no heat is required). Once dried the garment has a water repellent treatment on each fibre that also allows vapour to pass maintaining breathability.
Cotton Proof™ is water-based, non-flammable, non-aerosol, solvent-free and can be used on all sorts of clothing such as jackets and smocks as well as equipment such as canvas tents.
